Symbolism:
Hard and intelligent, the maple
cleverly splits its trunk from ground level to reduce resistance on
windy land.
It knows how to get noticed in autumn, showing off with flamboyant
colours. On a more reasonable note, maple's sweet sap or an infusion
made with its leaves can calm spirits that are running high.
Determined, strong and hard, it can be both brilliant and discreet.
Useful
tips:
It is easy to steer the development of the maple, whether
it is in a pot or out in the garden. Annual pruning is the key. Use
very sharp blades and carefully seal any open scars to prevent water
from penetrating inside the tree. And protect your maple from frost!
